North Texas water utility serving 2 million hit with cyberattack

A water utility serving two million people in North Texas is dealing with a cybersecurity incident that caused operational issues. With more than 850 employees, North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) provides wholesale water, wastewater and solid waste management services to more than 13 cities in the state, including Plano and Frisco.




Cyberattack on Pennsylvania Water Authority Disrupts OT Gear

This past weekend, the Aliquippa Municipal Water Authority, located in Pittsburgh, experienced a cyberattack after one of its booster stations was hacked by an Iranian-backed cyber group. The threat group, known as Cyber Av3ngers, hacked a system known as Unitronics, which has components that are Israeli-owned.




CISA Warns of Unitronics PLC Exploitation Following Water Utility Hack

After hackers compromised ICS at a US water utility, CISA issued a warning over the exploitation of the targeted Unitronics PLC. Based on publicly available information, the hackers targeted an Unitronics Vision system, which is a programmable logic controller (PLC) with an integrated human-machine interface (HMI).




Hospitals in at least 4 states diverting patients from emergency rooms after ransomware attack

Hospitals run by Ardent Health Services in at least four states were diverting patients from their emergency rooms after the health care company was hit by a ransomware attack.




Apparent GE Hack Raises National Security Concerns

National security concerns developed after a hacker known as IntelBroker claimed on a hacking forum to have stolen sensitive information from General Electric pertaining to its collaborative projects with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
