Targets of Opportunity: How Ransomware Groups Find Victims

Cybersecurity firm Group-IB reports that from July 2021 through June 2022, 43% of known ransomware attacks hit U.S. organizations. Next in line were Germany, the U.K., Canada, Italy and France.

Hospitals urged to tighten DDoS defenses after health data found on Killnet list

The Killnet hacktivist group is actively targeting the health sector with DDoS attacks, claiming to have successfully exfiltrated data from a number of hospitals within the last month, according to a Department of Health and Human Services Cybersecurity Coordination Center alert.




JD Sports Details Data Breach Affecting 10 Million Customers

JD Sports, a British-based sports fashion retailer with outlets around the globe, says hackers stole data pertaining to "approximately 10 million unique customers." The company says the breach stems from a system containing customer data "relating to some online orders placed between November 2018 and October 2020" and that customers are at risk from scammers.
